Our events are where Damu—Thicker Than Water comes alive—in the heart of the community, through culture, conversation, and connection.

We don’t run blood donation clinics—but we create the space for action to begin. At cultural festivals, faith gatherings, youth forums, and community celebrations, we set up vibrant and welcoming stalls that speak directly to Black African and Caribbean audiences. With music playing, trusted voices engaging, and resources in multiple languages, we open the door for people to learn, ask questions, and take that crucial first step: registering to become a blood donor.

Our presence at events is intentional and impactful. Whether we’re handing out NHSBT information, sharing stories of donors and patients, or simply having real conversations, each interaction is a chance to dispel myths, build confidence, and shift mindsets. We bring community insight and cultural credibility to the conversation around donation—because change only happens when people feel seen, heard, and respected.

Every event we attend is a new opportunity to plant the seed of life-saving action. Because when it comes to donation, the first conversation often leads to the first registration—and every registration has the power to save a life.
